Department of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry
Born in Barcelona (1958), graduated in Chemistry in 1980 and his PhD in Sciences Químicas the Department of Chemistry at the University of Barcelona in 1988, working in solid phase peptide synthesis. He has done a research in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Arizona working on asymmetric synthesis of β-branched amino acids (1988-1990). In 1992 he joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Barcelona and Professor. He has been Secretary of the Department (2003-2006) and since 2012 he is a member of the Institute of Biomedicine at the University of Barcelona (IBUB) on the campus of international excellence "Barcelona Knowledge Campus" (BKC).
His research is focused on the field of bioorganic chemistry, specifically, the development of new methods of solid phase peptide synthesis and amino acid chemistry.
